About
Cécile holds a Ph.D in fundamental Virology. Her research background focused on two human viruses: she first carried out research on Interferon antiviral effect against Hepatitis B virus, as a PhD fellow at Inserm U370/Institute Pasteur Paris, Pr. C. Bréchot’s Lab. As a postdoctoral research associate, she joined the Department of Immunology of Imperial College (London, UK), directed by Professor. C.R.M Bangham, to conduct a research project on Human T Lymphotropic Virus type 1 (HTLV-1) transmission. For 14 years, she then acquired a long experience in biomedical research programmes management and running collaborations in public-private partnerships, combining expertise in fundamental virology, immunology, vaccinology and clinical research. Before joining ANRS-MIE to lead the basic research departement, Cécile worked at Institut Pasteur, contributing to the development of its Carnot Pasteur Microbes & Health research and innovation programme and to the implementation of the scientific strategy of the institute, working in close collaboration with the Computational Biology, Virology and Global Health departments.
