Description

The development of therapeutic strategies towards HIV cure requires first an appropriate definition of the latent HIV reservoirs in which HIV persists indefinitely as a barrier against cure. Therefore, a correct redefinition of cells harboring the latent reservoirs is key to define the appropriate signals and drugs that would help at purging the HIV reservoirs. This project aims at providing a fine characterization of the reservoirs of latently HIV-infected cells. The project applies a highly innovative multi-step approach combining a multiplex analysis at the single cell level using multiparametric cytometry and microfluidic technologies using samples from people with HIV and SIV-infected samples from NHP models of infection.
